GUESTS:

ZONING INSPECTOR

Zoning Inspector Dunlap held a zoning commission meeting on January 13. Three members of the Zoning Commission attended. Topics discussed included wind and solar under 50 megawatts, as well as the harm Data Centers are causing to communities.

Mr. Dunlap informed the Board that our township cemetery now has an address at 5757 Mason Road.

Mr. Dunlap assigned another address for a property on Mason Road.

The deadline for a township resident to clean up their property was January 14, 2026. The township has exhausted all measures with this resident, including certified letters and communication from the prosecutor, and will now move to clean up the property. Mr. Dunlap suggests renting a large dumpster.

ROAD SUPERINTENDENT:

Oxford, Groton, and Margaretta Township shared the cost of a full-service repair to the township’s Crack Sealer. Oxford Township’s share is $431.13.

Mr. Dunlap informs the Board that this winter has been especially hard on the township roads.

Margaretta Township was very gracious in providing Oxford Township with wreaths for the twenty-eight Veterans' gravesites in our cemetery.

Mr. Dunlap is preparing a preliminary proposed road repair schedule for 2026 to be carried out by the township, saving thousands of dollars each year. When Mr. Dunlap’s schedule is complete, it will be added to the minutes. These repairs are contingent on the condition of the roads after the winter season.

TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees and the Fiscal Officer thanked Mr. Dunlap for always going above and beyond as the Road Superintendent. Mr. Dunlap placed 28 wreaths from Wreaths Across America, honoring the twenty-eight Veterans laid to rest in our township cemetery.

Trustee Leber:

Mr. Leber announced that Oxford will be hosting the OTA summer picnic.

Trustee Miller:

Trustee Miller went to the annual Erie County Engineer meeting. The Engineer will be able to identify catch basins and right-of-way.

Trustee Parker:

Trustee Parker met with Commissioner Matt Old and Engineer Eric Dodrill to discuss the possibility of more equipment sharing. The Blue-Ribbon Committee outlined how sharing equipment among townships could be a huge cost-saving measure.

Mr. Parker suggested attending the next OTA meeting in March to stay current on Issue Two state fund applications for roads maintenance.

FISCAL OFFICER:

The Fiscal Officer is working to close the fiscal year 2025. This process will be completed in late January or early February. The deadline to close the year is February 28th, and the Fiscal Officer is ahead of schedule.

The Fiscal Officer is ahead of schedule in producing purchase orders for 2026. Producing them in this manner should assist the Road Superintendent while also improving the township audit.

The Fiscal Officer mailed all relevant tax documents to those who need them for tax filing.

No communications from Sheriff Sigsworth.
